Willie Elliott (Rip)

Rest In Peace

 Willie Robertson Elliott III, 31, departed this world on Saturday, October 18, 2008. He was a friend to many and a stranger to few. He was born in Durham, to Eillie Robertson Elliott Jr. and Hilda Elliott James.
He attended the Durham City School system and graduated from Durham High School in 1995, where he was active in the athletic department with basketball and football. Wllie was also a very accomplished artist. He attended Livingston College and North Carolina Central University. He loved children and helped to coach the Bull City Lions little league football team.
He is survived by his mother, Hilda Elliott James; and his father, Willie Robertson Elliott Jr. (Wanda), all of Durham; his grandfather, Obie Tucker of Durham; his sisters, Jennifer Allen (Xavier) of Mckinney, Texas, Joy McNeil (John) of High Point, JoNell Elliott and Nakia Wagstaff of Durham; his brother, Jacob James (Aranda) of Greensboro; an uncle; an aunt; great aunts; and great uncles; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a legion of loyal friends.
A service celebrating Willie's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at First United Antioch Baptist Church, 1415 Holloway Street, Durham. The viewing will start at noon and the service will start at 1 p.m.
