Kerwin Mumford VIEW PROFILE

Kerwin Mumford

Sadly we have lost another dear friend and classmate, Kerwin J. Mumford, who passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2022.  He was a bright light at our reunions, whether tearing up the dance floor with his disco moves or quietly catching up with old friends and classmates.  We will miss him dearly at our 50th.  I don't think many of us knew him with his nickname "Jim" - he was and always will be just dear, sweet Kerwin to us.  Rest in peace my friend.

NOTE:  Per family request, please do not phone Kerwin's parents, Ellie and Rob.  Thanks.

From Kerwin's obituary:

Born in Springfield, and raised in East Longmeadow, MA, he was the son of Robert E. and Eleanor (Keroack) Mumford of East Longmeadow. Jim was a 1974 graduate of East Longmeadow High School and 1978 college graduate of Hartt School of Music. As a high school student he was selected to be a member of the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble where he toured Prague, Budapest and other eastern European cities. Early in his music career, he also played the saxophone in bands aboard ships cruising the Caribbean. For over 36 years, Jim enjoyed his employment with Emerson Swan Plumbing Company in Randolph.

He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where he taught CCD and the Chapel of Our Savior. In his adult years, he was a member of the Randolph Community Band and Canton Community Band and a longtime member of the Pine Oaks Golf Course. He also enjoyed sports, especially hockey and was a big fan of the Boston Bruins. He loved disco music, Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, and the Bee Gees. He was known as an old fashioned, selfless, hardworking, and kind man who would do anything for his children.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his children Brenna Holmes-Mumford of Brockton and Honolulu, HI, and Matthew Holmes-Mumford of Brockton. He was the brother of Kristin Mumford of West Dover, VT, Kyle Mumford of Bonita Springs, FL and Kara Healey of Bonita Springs, FL. He is also survived by his former wife Kim Meredith Holmes of Brockton."
