TROY, Michael A.
Age 57, of Elmira, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Mike was born July 21, 1951, a son of the late Francis H., Sr. and Marie Shortsleeve Troy. He is survived by his wife, Carol Palmer Stull Troy; step-sons, Jason M. Stull and Bryan M. Stull; grandson, Gage M. Stull, all of Elmira; sister and brother-in-law, Ann E. and Frederick Walz of Caledonia, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis H. and Carol Troy, Jr., of Elmira, Daniel P. and Karen Troy of Elmira, Timothy W. Troy of Tucson, AZ, J. Frederick and Lynn Troy of Elmira, Joseph P. and Terril Troy of Tucson, AZ; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert C. and Ella May Palmer of Elmira; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William C. and Carine Palmer of Rogers, AK, Douglas C. and Faye Palmer of Huntsville, AL, Andrew J. and Heather Palmer of Charleston, SC; along with several nieces and nephews. Mike spent several years in law enforcement with the Pima County Sheriff's Department in Arizona before moving back to Elmira. For the past 23 years he has been employed with the Elmira Psychiatric Center as a Mental Health Therapy Aide. Mike had a life long dedication to physical fitness. He also was an avid fisherman, fishing in rivers and streams. Mike was a member of the John J. Lee Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and was a communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Officers and member of the A.O.H. will meet at the funeral home on Sunday, June 14th at 1:45 p.m. to conduct a service for our brother Mike.
