I thought the dinner was quite nice. I also thought it was a little pricey. I know there are cost involved, but maybe a gathering at a local Vol Fire Dept with catering options could be less expensive. Also, a DJ might be reconsidered as we had 5 years prior. Maybe a good one could coordinate some fun games using old memories. Just a suggestion. I am available to help on some things if committee members wish to contact me in the future.

I was unable to attend the Friday night get together, enjoyed Saturday at Hilltop very much, but the icing on the cake for me was brunch thanks to Bill knapp who created a scrumptious meal and let us use his beautiful home to gather in. Bill was kind enough to host all the planning meetings for the reunion. Bev Lewis got the ball rolling toward the reunion and helped set it up, but ended up moving back to Texas and was unable to attend. You were missed Bev - thanks for all your input, sorry you were unable to enjoy the fruits of your labor! Maybe we'll see you at the next one!?

I was very sorry I wasn't able to attend. I knew it would be a great time and judging from the photos, it looks like it was. Hopefully can make the next one. Just want to thank all who took part in making it all happen. There's always a lot of work to do and not enough helpers. Would love to see more photos. Maybe next time, someone could be the "reunion photographer".

My school started two days after the reunion ended so I was not able to attend this one. I would like to attend the next one and hope to be retired by then. I love my job so that is why I work but one of these days I won't. :-) When I looked at the events, etc., I wished to see some kind of event where you could just talk and it was not a party type atmosphere. Perhaps having a scavenger hunt where you drive around Elmira finding clues, etc., in teams and meeting at the end for a daytime or early evening picnic? There could even be a table at each of the stops with cold drinks and snacks so people would hang out a little at each stop (probably alcohol would not be advisable until the last stop.) Or how about a a mini golf tournament with prizes? They could even be silly prizes - person with the longest shot outside the green, highest score, etc., in addition to normal awards.

Frankly, I don't know how this could have been improved. Bill worked his arse off and created quite a masterpiece of an event. Fantastic job Bill. Can't compliment you enough.

While I loved the view from Hill Top, my wife & I suggest the Elmira Country Club as a venue for the next time. We understand the Country Club does not require membership to hire the facility for a meal gathering such as we had. We have always enjoyed our meals there as guests of members.

I was pretty sure the price for Hilltop included extras and hope the treasury swelled a lot as a result. Thanks to Thom for pointing that out and to all who helped out for the 40th.

Probably the nicest event of all due to it's very casual and homey atmosphere, was the Sunday Brunch. Honestly I don't think that could have been done any better as the capstone to our reunion weekend. But in view of making things even better, if you have a suggestion on where to hold a similar event or how to go about doing it, here's an opportunity to speak up.

Bill, just for the record, you did an amazing job and I deeply appreciated it. It was a beautiful way to close out the weekend. THANKS!

Dinner - The Main Event

We know that the price was relatively high. I liked what Scott Poley said in response to a question regarding what did you get for $48. "We get to see how gracefully many of us have aged." Scott, you have done well.

When considering the cost, please keep in mind there were expenses added to the cost of the dinner to offset the cost of mailing postcards and buying a few prizes to give out at the dinner. Hopefully use of this web site will eliminate much of the postage expense if everyone keeps their info current.

The committee is open to suggestions on what would work and attract more class members for our 45th.

BTW, if you'd like to work on the committee to help arrange things, there's plenty of room for help.

Yearbooks

I have scanned all the graduation pictures from the yearbook and used them on each class member's profile. For people that may have lost their yearbook in the flood of '72, I have the ability to put those pictures together in a publication and have them printed in a hardcover book. One thing I was thinking about was to collect lots of photos from the reunion and create a book that would feature all our graduation portraits and a selection of reunion "as we are today" photos into a coffee table book.

I have no desire to profit from this. If this does go forward, I suggest any profit from this project would go toward the class fund for future activities. At this point I have no solid idea what the cost would be but my estimate would be around $50. I will have a firm price once the project is complete and ready for printing.

What I would like to know is how many people would be interested in having such a book. If that interests you, please drop me a note (use "contact us" in the left menu system) and let me know your level of interest. These would be sold through the web site and all profits turned over to the class.

Yeh Mack, The best part about the whole thing was that I got away and you got busted. My Dad spoke highly of how well you Marty and Jack took the trip to jail. The lord works in mysterious ways. That experience was so "spiritual" that I almost became a Muslim.

That was some day/evening. . I remember Marty , Rick , and Jack were " janitors" at the Marian Center. Don't dare mention last names! It was a nice spiritual place to take loved ones ie: girlfriends, or so I was told........

With out a doubt, the most famous/infamous senior party ever in the history of the Elmira School District.

That night was in the works for weeks!

Man, you know it was THE event when so many of us still laugh and reminiss about it after all these years.

I'll let others add to the story, particularly the ones who got caught. lol
