Hal Waite jr

After High School, I graduated from Villanova University with a business degree, then afterward moved up to Boston where I lived and worked for 5 years. Great city, lots of fun, but realizing I didn't belong in banking, in 1979 I left the east coast and drove cross country solo on a 10,000 mile circuitous route finally settling in southern California. Los Angeles, then San Diego, then LA again, got married had a daughter, got unmarried. In the meantime, I was working in the animation business, got an MBA and in 1991 work took me to London where I spent 3 amazing years working on American Tail II and We're Back, two animated films that opened up a whole new world of international friendships.

Then back to LA where I was the associate producer on the Ren and Stimpy Show for 2 seasons followed by a 9 year run Executive Producing The Rugrats and Wild Thornberrys Movies for Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures. I still pinch myself wondering how I got there. That time was creative, exciting and lots of long hours.

In 2005 I met the beautiful Jeanne Korn in NYC at a writer's/producer's gathering and since then, we have been on a whirlwind journey, settling initially in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a truly enchanting place where we were married by none other than, fellow Southside High classmate, Reverend Chris Sherwood. Two years later, work brought us back to LA where we stayed until May, 2014 when we decided to move back to New York where we now live in Troy and also spend time in NYC.

Each day back in New York reminds me of how beautiful it is here.

I can't remember too many crazy times, being kind of low key back then. However, I do remember one of the few times I drank in high school, playing cards and drinking beers with a bunch of guys in Saint Mary's Church back when Marty Maloney had a part time job there and the keys. I had a healthy pot in front of me and somewhere after the second beer, I vaguely remember falling out of my chair and wondering where all my money went. Of course, I also remember being thrown, clothes and all into a cold shower, sobering up and vowing never to that again! Thank God, we were in a church, because whatever deal I made with God that day has lasted up until now! :)))
