Kathryn "Kitty" Fosler of Liberty, NY, a 30 year area resident and teacher at the Liberty Elementary School in Liberty, died on Sunday, September 22, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris.  She was 57 years of age.

The daughter of the late John E. Jr. and Mary Rumbaugh Elliott, she was born on February 26, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was the widow of Richard H. Fosler who died May 10, 1998.

A member of the Liberty United Methodist Church and the Liberty Faculty Association, Mrs. Fosler was the recipient of the 2002 Outstanding Educator from the Sullivan County School Boards Association.

Mrs. Fosler is survived by three children, John Eric Fosler-Lussier of Hillsborough, NJ., Peter Elliott Fosler and his wife, Danielle of Reston, VA., and Jessica Lynn Fosler of Kirkland Wash., a brother John Rombough Elliott of st. Charles, IL., and a grandson, Elliott Richard Fosler-Lussier.

Services were held Wednesday at the Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty with the Rev. Francis Waite officiating.  Burial was made in the Laurel Hill Cementery in White Sulphur Springs.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn Fosler Memorial Fund, c/o Liberty Elementary School, N.
