In Memory

Mary Wilcox (Kellogg)

Mary Wilcox (Kellogg)

Mary D. Kellogg (Wilcox) left this earthly realm on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 65 after a long illness, to be home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and her Pastor as she passed from this life to the next.

Born on March 28, 1953 in Towanda, PA, Mary was the daughter of the late Harold & Janet Wilcox and married Jim Kellogg in 1973.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, James David Kellogg; brother, Steve (Nancy) Wilcox; children, Jason (Hope) Kellogg, Melissa (Jim) Nichiporuk, Jeremiah Kellogg, Sarah Kellogg, and 7 grandchildren who were the love of her life. Mary was predeceased by her younger sister, Sharon Wilcox and younger brother, Leon Wilcox.

Mary was a long time resident of Elmira, graduating from Southside High in 1972. Her heart was always to help others, in spite of her own long term health issues, and she was a loving, hard-working stay-at-home mother to her 4 children, while always looking for ways to help and support others during their times of need. Among other things, she was the "blanket lady", creating countless crochet blankets for both friends and strangers, all made with love and encouragement for others, often in their hard seasons of life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Robert Packer Hospital and Guthrie Southport for their skill and compassion in caring for and helping Jim care for Mary during her many years of sickness and pain.

There will be a Celebration Service of Mary's life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Breesport Baptist Church, 1811 N Chemung Rd, Breesport, NY 14816. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 AM and the service will start at 11:00 AM. Mary's committal service will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery on a later date at the convenience of the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mary's passing, and my heart goes out to Jim and their children.  She and I were two of the quiet, shy girls at SHS and were friends.  I remember her and I having fun decorating her car for Senior Day.  I'm so glad you're not hurting anymore, Mary, and that you're in heaven with our Lord and Savior.  Love, Cathy

So sad to see so many of our class have passed away. I hope Mary is at peace now and my thoughts and prayers are out to her family.
