Asheville - Gary Louis Dean, 53, of South Bear Creek Rd., died Wednesday, January 11, 2012.

A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of Mattie Lou Wike Dean and of the late Charles Gilbert Dean.

Mr. Dean worked as a mechanic in the Buncombe County Schools bus garage. He was a member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Donna Roberts Dean, of Kathleen, GA; a son, Charles Louis Dean, of Kathleen, GA; and by a sister, Debbie Pressley of Asheville.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Brooks and the Rev. Woody Dillingham officiating.

Memorials may be made to Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church, 2 Bear Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. Additional memorials may be made to Groce Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
