Asheville - Steve William Guy, 44 of 165 Oakview Drive, died suddenly Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at his home.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe county, he was a block mason and formerly attended White Rock Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Enka High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and coached little league and basketball at Hominy Valley. He was a son of Joretta Crowder Guy of Candler and the late William Othell Guy.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his former wife, Susan Howell Guy of Fletcher; son, Stephen Brandon Guy of Fletcher; brother, Perry Guy of Candler and several uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at White Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Metcalf officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
