Bettie J. Applebee, age 54, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her residence in Harborcreek Twp. She was born in Erie on August 20, 1953, daughter of the late Alvin, Sr. and Jane Tiedgen Boyce. She had lived in the Erie area her entire life. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Bettie was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1971.

She was employed with Erie Insurance Exchange for 17 years; an avid bowler and golfer. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, William F. Applebee, Sr.; one daughter, Bethany Shreckengost and her husband Matt of Pittsburgh; two sons, William F. Applebee, Jr. and Robert D. Applebee, both of Erie; three sisters, Beverly Anselment-Boyce and Barbara Silay, and her husband George, both of Erie and Bonnie Boyce of Orange Co., California; one brother, Alvin Boyce, Jr. of Erie; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Bradley.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc. East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Tommy O’Leary of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
