Harris S. "Fritz" Publicover III, age 56, went to his Heavenly Father Thursday, January 14, 2010, at his residence, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Erie on September 18, 1953, he was a son of the late Harris S. Publicover, Jr. and the late Gay Graham Publicover Fisher. He was a skilled laborer with Local Union 603, and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of the Knights of St. John and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 494 in Girard, Pa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth Leo Fisher Sr., an infant sister Leda Mae Fisher and a sister Julia (Publicover) Bliley. Survivors include his wife, Arlene (Izzi) Publicover; a daughter, Loretta Ann (Publicover) Sutton, husband Keith M. of Erie; a stepson, Anthony Vincent Bruno, wife Tracey, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Lynn, Madison Rae, Skylar Marie, Kyle Michael, Kiaunna Marie, Samantha Janine and Megan Michele; a sister, Linda (Fisher) Foreman, of Erie; four brothers, John Publicover, wife Barbara "Teresa", Richard Publicover, Kenneth Leo Fisher, Jr. and Barry Publicover, wife Carrie all of Erie; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend a service there Monday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505, or to a charity of one's choice.
