Cheryl Ann Boehm Matz, 30, West 23rd Street, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, at her home. She was born June 26, 1967, in Laurel, Md., daughter of Walter C. and Nora J. Colicchio Boehm of Erie. Mrs. Matz was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, where she attended grade school. She was a 1985 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and earned a license in cosmetology from J.H. Thompson Academies. She worked at Lamar Coiffures and Carlisle's downtown until its closing. Most recently, she was employed as a teller at the Millcreek Mall office of Northwest Savings Bank.
She was an avid photographer who loved to capture family moments. She enjoyed drawing, writing poems and working in her garden. Mrs. Matz was preceded in death by her grandfather, Walter A. Boehm, and a cousin, Mary Mifsud.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Matz; two children, Dylan Tyler Matz and Amber Nicole Matz, both at home; a brother, Geoffrey A. Boehm of Erie; maternal grandparents, Ted and Florence Colicchio of Erie; and paternal grandmother, Charlotte Boehm of Erie.

Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, West 25th and Sassafras streets, today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held there at 9 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family or to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, Pa. 16505, for blood vessel cancer research.
