Richard Gannon II VIEW PROFILE

Richard Gannon II died on April 17, 2004, due to injuries received from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California. 

Gannon was posthumously promoted to Major.

It was such a shock when we learned you died in combat. Weren't we supposed to be invincible... I have so many great memories of my time with you in high school. My most heartfelt thanks go out to you for serving our country and my sorrow to your family, who I'm sure miss you dearly every day.

Kerrie Armstrong (Lakin)

This is the first I have heard of Rick's death! I was so very sad. I remember him as an ornery teenage boy with lots of energy.  He will attend the reunion in memory and with great Honor for paying the ultimate price for our great Country. Thank You Richard Gannon II. ~Kerrie Armstrong-Lakin.

RIP Rick.  I had heard he joined the Military and its sad to see that he died in Iraq.  He was a great guy in High School and I'm sure he was a great Marine.
