Most of us had just loaded into Bob's car, eight of us, to come home from the concert, my phone rang and Anna said,'Nana, I shot a deer'.......I thought, my lands, that made two big events for me to hear in one day, hahahaha....

01/24/09 02:54 PM #52     Dot Balentine (Green) Thanks Kelly, from Daddy.....he had a wonderful birthday..... Barry and Laura invited us over for a big birthday deer tenderloin supper!! Barry cooked the tenderloin, one of his specialties, to perfection and I must say his gravy was superb..Laura made good homemade fluffy creamed potatoes, no mixer for her, and I could tell a difference in the taste..corn on cob, nice hot biscuits to go with the meal and I brought crunchy okra and birtday cakes..They had him a big birthday balloon bouquet picked out by Anna and a birthday sign on the front door...He felt so special..His gift was a case of sunglasses!!! Can you beat that for being unique, hahaha...Barry has bought them before for his Daddy and a great hit again this time as we have used up that case, hahaha Then the fun started with Junior playing the Wii for the first time....look out Colin, Poppa might give you a run for your money if you bring yours again next time when you come...I must say he and Barry played on that game until ten last night and that is late for us old folks, hahaha Love to all.......

A few others checked in at first but haven't heard from them lately........yes, click on all the links. We need to fill all of the links up and I hope to once I get that computer hooked up...... I wish all the family members that are listed will fill out their profile..Do it, folks!!!!..This year I was hoping to be reminded of everyone's birthday on the home page so I could at least remember to send each a card in 2009..In 2008, I didn't do so well......... Get those keys to clicking!!!

I just finished watching "The Holiday" movie, again....been awhile since I viewed it and I really love it...All I could find on tv tonight was scary movies or violence. Barry brought over 'Band of Brothers' a few weeks ago and Junior and I really loved that, especially me...He soon fell asleep on most of it. It did just as Barry said it would, 'change my life'..I so love our veterans and that movie made that feeling even more intense. Have a very Happy Birthday, tomorrow, Duane!!! I'm sure Jennifer will make it very special for you.

That was fabulous plus at the beginning of the game, Faith Hill singing and the other singer belting out the national anthemn!!!! What a great job they did. Mary said to tell everyone she has no new pictures on her picture frame....

I gotta get my calendar out. For the last two weeks I have been in South Carolina at Kelly's, enjoying being with the Graybills and Tot Trade...loved all the hustle and bustle and now home trying to get oriented.... Love to all......

I sure have felt like the Lone Ranger on the Message Board and you have made my day reading your post and to know someone does check in on the family website.....Maybe others will begin to fill out their profile and we will have a good place to chat and keep up with one another.........Facebook and regular email is great but having a Family Website of our own is the best!!!!!! Happy Birthday to you, DarlLynne!!!!! Get your profile posted girl... Daddy would have been 95 years old today. He had a good life and always seemed to enjoy everyday. Happy Easter to everyone..The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend after the storms passed by today...so get those eggs ready and have a good hunt.... Love to all.......

I've been busy with my sale and now getting my checks all done. I am happy to report that they are 'in the mail'....what a tedious process and one that has to be 100% accurate for the consignors as well as myself. Once again....it was a phenominal sale! I am just happy it is over! And 'officially' now. Whew!

08/19/09 06:30 AM #69     Dot Balentine (Green) Hello Family...... Hey, where are you people? I haven't posted in awhile and was hoping to read some family news...... How was your summer? It is about gone now or seems it is since the kids' school has started. That always signals the end of summer and Fall fast approaching. The older I get the quicker time flys and then I wonder where did all the years go. We are having a good summer so far.......the only really new news for us, four weeks ago we started some remodeling that was long overdue. No, we aren't doing it, we hired a contractor for the job and now looking forward to having their jobs finished....There have been a number of people trodding through our house, as for Junior and I, we go fishing and let them have at it... The workers gutted our kitchen, laundry room and bathroom...later after a breather, we hope to have the hardwood floors redone and I am really looking forward to that being finished and seeing the result..all of this work has been long overdue...... Write and tell us about your summer? Your vacation and for those of you that have kids, all about them starting back to school or to school for the first time........ I'd love to see this website used and enjoyed. Love to all of you........

Hope you are having a good one, Duane, and looks like with all the snow that is up your way again, Duane, you could even have snow cream to go with your birthday cake!!!!!! We wait and wait for good ole snow here in North ALabama and where does it go? Tennessee and East and West of us....Even Texas gets snow...... I sure wish South Carolina would get a bunch of snow too for Cameron and Colin have been disappointed to many times of snow not coming their way too... Love to all, Dot
