Oh Doug, I just saw the movie you posted. It was great and made me want out on that Tennesee River so much with Capt. Duane. Mary will enjoy the fiddle music as much as I did...Keep it coming. Deb, was that you in the baby pool?? I've done it before too. Thanks again for those of you that made this connection happen. Now it is up to the rest of us to help out! Love to all, Aunt J.

Hello family! Where is everyone? Busy taking down Christmas? Normally that is what I do the day after but I didn't this year. I was so tired from getting Cameron off on his trip (I got up at 4:00am) so I just laid around all day...it was great! Bob and Colin went to the movie and then did some running around and that left the house to just me all day almost...they even brought home dinner...sushi!! Well...not for Colin but for me and Bob.

Get on the forum people...it's fun!

Well...no sign of Christmas at the Graybills...yep...it is all down. Well..what I did do..I told you all that i put up little Christmas trees this year...all themed...instead of my 12 foot tree..just wanted to do soemthing different and it was lovely.

I took off all the ornaments and still left the lights on them but I placed them in different places of my house so it doesn't looks so Christmasy. I will leave them up for a few more days...as it will be easy to just store them away. Bob and Colin didn't want to take all the Christmas down..what?...are the forgetting...I ALWAYS take it down the day after Christmas (didn't this year as I was too tired from getting Cameron off). My house is now back to normal and I love it!!

I know, I know..I'm such a 'bah-humbug' aren't I? teehee!!

Late night for me everybody, not unusual though...we just watched the Miami/Cal game and I thought it would never end..pretty good though...Junior and I are really looking forward to the bigger bowl games......

Yes, Kelly, you better believe I am reading Hillard's blog about the SE tour and I am visualizing the places Janice and I were fortunate to visit in years past...I absolutely loved Germany and Austria, well Switzerland too, not Italy as much but know that is one of your favorite places, KElly...I will never forget Janice wanting 'just a cup of coffee' in Italy and all she could get was a tiny cup of cappacinno that was really new to us at that time and she swallowing it in one gulp, hahahaha

Wow, a burst of thunderstorms hitting here now and moving through, yikes, back at you all later.....

Dot Balentine (Green)

Doug, I haven't seen the movie you posted on Mary's picture frame yet, at least it wasn't on there today unless I overlooked it...There are lots of great pictures on it and Mary is loving it....This afternoon she had just laid down and was viewing it and almost asleep....it is her 'tv', hahaha.....

Janice, the beautiful picture you took of her at the CHristmas party at Crosspoint Church of Christ is great..I told her that was the best picture I have seen of her in a long time and told her it should be in a magazine and she readily agreed and said it should be on the front page.haha....thanks to all that sent her cards and gifts and came to visit her...She has had a wonderful holiday season

12/28/08 10:38 AM #33

Kelly Green (Graybill)

Correction....that was an Espresso that she got and 'gulped' down in one swig! haha!! And....she didn't even flench! haha...(is that a word?) haha!

12/28/08 02:52 PM #34

Dot Balentine (Green)

Huh?? hahahaha, what is the difference in an espresso and a cappucinno? Shows what this Alabama hillbilly doesn't know, hahaha

I do know Janice put her right foot right up there on that lower foot bar rest at the counter just like a cowboy would in an old western movie and she took that tiny cup and went 'gulp' and whatever it was disappeared and it took her awhile to catch her breath and be able to talk, haahahahaha

12/28/08 03:04 PM #35

Kelly Green (Graybill)

Well...unless you are an avid coffee drinker (and Aunt J is) and not only avid but you prefer your coffee with a bit of kick to it...you might not want to try an espresso! It's dark, thicker and well...in my opinion will curl your toes much more than a swig of Jack Daniels! ha!

12/28/08 03:13 PM #36

Dot Balentine (Green)

Janice, next time remember to just dip your tongue in the espresso or take very small sips, hahahahaha

I'll never forget her asking the Italians at a roadside type diner/tourbus stop for 'just a cup of coffee' and each time she would say that just a bit louder as if maybe that way, they would understand to give her a big cup of American Maxwell House, hahahaha

12/29/08 08:39 AM #37

Kelly Green (Graybill)

And let's not forget the little Italian lady who we KNOW was saying a few 'choice words' to Aunt J cause she wasn't leaving her a 'tip' when she went in and used the bathroom! haha!!

'What? What honey? What did you say?' hahaha!! Oh gosh...you had to be there!! haha!!

12/29/08 10:12 AM #38

Dot Balentine (Green)

hAHAHAHA, ohh, that bathroom scene was hilarious....how about the time we got on the train to go to Octoberfest in Munich, wasn't it, and there sat a little German lady, headscarf on , a grimace on her face, I don't think Germans like AMericans, but I said I best cheery 'hello' to her a couple of times and she still sat like a grouch, hahaha, no budging her.....or the time we came down the narrow mountainside in Switzerland and, Kelly, you awoke from a short nap and said, 'I saw a little girl in the road' and about that time, Janice, opened her eyes and said,'I saw her too', hahahahahahahaha....so many funny things to tell about that trip....it was a trip of a lifetime and reading Hillard's blog of Hammond's trip to Europe brings so many memories back.........we could go on and on with funny things that happened couldn't we Janice and Kelly!!!!!!!
Nothing like being in those far away places.....

Hello to everyone.......
HAPPY NEW YEAR and I hope all of you have one of the best years of life in 2009!!!!!

It is a beautiful morning here in North Alabama, the air so crisp and cold, enough to make you want to drink some good ole hot chocolate..well, almost, I have a Diet Coke already. Isn't that terrible.

Anybody have any New Year's plans? Usually I was ironing or something like that when the big ball dropped in New York as I watched Dick CLark and others excitedly tell and experience it and I would often think how unbelievable it would be to be there too but now you couldn't throw me in that madness, hahaha

We are looking forward to the bowl games and have seen some good ones already..

Yesterday Junior and Tim were fishing on Wilson Lake and Tim caught a catfish guessed weight of about 120 pounds..one of the guys working on a barge got picture of it on his cell phone..Junior had forgotten his and guess Tim didn't think of his...Tim said the belly of the fish was about width of my kitchen table.....

Kelly Green (Graybill)

The Graybill's...Bob, Kelly and Colin at leaast...will be at a party tonight to bring in the New Year...we never venture far from home and didn't even do it before Bob and I had kids. I don't know...something about that night just makes me want to stay home! Why make myself a target on the roads with all the partiers? ha! So, we will be celebrating with all our neighbors on the street just like we normally do when we are home. Of course, all the kids are excited, they worked hard yesterday setting up their 'kid section'...complete with dancefloor and of course...Colin is providing the music! Who else!? haha! I'll be sure to take some pictures!

I hope you all are reading the blog from Cameron's trip...a short post from yesterday though...they had a very busy day of sightseeing and a concert last night so not a long post as normal. But...I feel a good one coming! So be sure to check it out. Again...here is the link...http://hammondselectensembletour.blogspot.com/

Dot Balentine (Green)

I can't wait to read the next blog about the Hammond trip and know Cameron is going to be so excited to be home and with so much to tell, that is if he will tell it, hahaha

No plans for us tonight except to keep our sweet Carter..He is spending the night and talking to me now, '90 miles a minute'....as soon as we got in the house he learned to use the nutcracker to evenly burst the pecans and watched his hands so they wouldn't get pinched.....

Barry/Laura's neighbors invited them to their house with the kids and they knew Carter would be happier here.....when I went to pick him up, the woods out back of their house was alive with sounds of the kids playing......that is a paradise for the neighborhood kids...The Green's house is headquarters for all the kids and Barry said that is the way he and Laura like it....

Barry wanted me to play the bowling on the Wii and that is so much fun, plus all the other games......I can see how one could get addicted to it. Will and Matthew, neighborhood kids, were wanting to 'play Mr. Green' on the Wii......

Kelly, there are so many nice and fun people on your street and I am sure all of you will have a ball..no need to go anywhere else...

Hahaha, Colin in charge of the music for the kids' dance floor.......too cute.....

I spent big part of the morning with Mary this morning at MH...she looked so cute in her red exercise suit...they had New Year's Party before lunch and had eggnog, coffee and donuts....their entertainment was great and sponsored by Tenn. River Hospice.....the singers and guitar player did good job......that activity went right into lunch and then exercie class at two this afternoon...

It was fun to run into you, Janice, at the grocery...we hardly do that and you would think we would see everyone all the time......

Emily, it was great seeing you yesterday at Kohl's..know Kohl's keeps you busy....

By the way, Doug or Jeff...the staff has been trying to help Mary keep her picture frame going and today it would not come on...I finally got it on but could not get a network to pick it up...it said I needed to pick out network and a code name....can either of you help in that direction or do I need to do something very simple to make that happen....thanks...

Hey there everyone...
What? No posts?

First of all, the Alabama/Utah game sure was a bummer last night wasn't it.....I could not believe the early scoring of Utah plus good playing after all the hype we heard from the media of small-town college, plus..I would say them being 13-0 is a good record.

I guess most of you know Terry Bowden will start his first day as head football coach at UNA this following Monday..That is a name easily recognized and hope he has the talents to have as good a record to lead the Lions as the resigning coach.....

Junior and I sure enjoyed watching Anna and Easton playilng Upward Basketball this morning....this is Anna's second season and Easton's first..those teams and them are so much fun to watch.

YAH, Cameron and his classmates and Hammond staff are scheduled to land in CHarlotte, NC tonight at ten thirty Eastern Time....don't you know the Graybills will be so excited

and especially you, Kelly..

Crystal, so glad you and your family are moved in and getting settled in your new house in Canton, MS..Canton, right? From looking at your blog, your house is beautiful..
I'm sure Emme will easily make friends when she starts back to school this next week...

It is always hard to start back to school after Christmas vacation isn't it....some may be ready for it.......

Love to all........

Hello.......
GO GATORS.........

Janice and I are leaving for SC in the morning for about four days or so....Our reason, to hear the Select Ensemble in concert and to see Cameron as a part of it........
I am so excited........

01/14/09 11:50 PM #47

Dot Balentine (Green)

Janice and arrived home tonight from South Carolina......

We had a wonderful time seeing and hearing Cameron sing in the concert and it was well worth the thousand mile round trip...He looked so handsome in his black tuxedo..
All the ensemble looked and sang beautiful....After the concert, a slide show of pictures were shown of the trip they took to Europe.

I enjoyed staying with Kelly, Bob, Cameron and Colin and Janice stayed with Brad, Cherie, Catherine and Carson.......Catherine and Carson's eyes lit up when they saw their Memmie and I know they got a lot of playing time together.......

Oh yes!! Wish everyone could have seen our sweet Cameron sing! As one of his teachers said...."when he opens up his voice to sing he looks like an angel!" haha!! Course I love hearing that. Wish you all could have been there!
