Vikki and Pamela Smith were a very close friends through middle school and part of high school. Pam remembers in her sophomore year, I received a call from her early Saturday morning, Vicky was very upset. Her dad had just died of a heart attack, prom was that night, and Vicky  asked Pam to go with her date in her place. I did, but it was not a good time for any of us. Pam and Vicky grew apart after that, did not hear anything from her, until Pam received a call from a mutual friend that she had passed away. Pam did attend her funeral, she was not sure just when it was, but I think she was only 39 years old and was living in Illinois at the time of her death.
