Steve was one of a kind. In this day and age; it seems rare that you have and had an opportunity to know someone such as Steve. He was a great artist, but he was also a great friend to everyone that met him.

I got to know Steve better after high school. He's one of the only people I knew who could bang his head harder than myself! One of the kindest souls I've ever met. I miss him.

Steve was my best friend growing up out at Wahkonsa Village. I remember us breaking each others glasses so many times acting like fools and messing around. He was a great artist and loved drawing Eddie, the mascot for Iron Maiden. I have one of his last drawings of Eddie and hold it dear. I remember our time shared out at the County Home, without him I would not have made it through those weeks spent there. Thank you for being my friend and I will always remember you Itian (spits)Bertrandt.

Steve was a great artist and even better friend. Many was the time I asked to draw just to watch him at work, it was an amazing sight to see.
