Served in the US Armed Forces Bicentennial Band, playing string bass and bass guitar from 1974 to 1976.
Joined the Field Band in December 1976. Married Cheryl Spitz (soprano in Soldiers' Chorus) at the Post Chapel on Fort Meade in 1979.
Served as bandleader, arranger, and musician (keyboards, bass guitar, electric guitar, and/or singer) for "Progression" and then "Cheryl Peach"...both with my wife, Cheryl, as the lead singer.
After leaving the Army, I used the GI to get an engineering degree, and then worked as an electronics and software design engineer under government contracts for NASA, NIST, Navy, and Air Force. Also managed and wrote many proposals to the Government, with some contracts valued over $1 Billion.
Along with a career in the high tech industry, I continued to produce as well wrote songs and arrangements for hundreds of studio recordings with my wife, Cheryl. On many of our recordings, I play all of the instruments (keyboards, guitars, bass guitar, drums, mandolin, violin, string bass, autoharp). We've also recorded studios in New York and Nashville with top session musicians who have played on many hit records.
Recently, I've begun recording a CD of inspirational songs on solo string bass (sounds like a cello). And, I record rock songs with me as the lead singer.
Back in the 1990s, studied video production at Montgomery Community Television. Worked on hundreds of TV broadcasts for two public access TV channels in Montgomery County, Maryland. A few years later, I produced the Cheryl Peach Gospel Show that was broadcast on TV channels throughout the mid-Atlantic area.
In 2004, Cheryl and I built a handicap-accessible home near Chambersburg, PA so that Cheryl's father, Leonard Spitz, could live with us. It was gratifying to enjoy Cheryl's father for his last three years on Earth.
I continue to work in the high tech industry, and at home I'm always working in the studio on new recordings, or videos.
Cheryl and I love the beach, and of course playing with our cute little doggy Cody.
