He was a good person. I really liked him.

He was my best friend from the time I was 2 years old.  I still miss him and love him.  He helped shape who I am today.  Tears are still shed for him and he is always in my thoughts and always with me.

Tim was the anchor of our Glee Club and a dear friend. No other pianist I have worked with could top him!  He challenged me to try to be better and better. Funny story: he had  perfect pitch and we would have to turn off the fan because it was humming in the wrong key. A superb talent, wonderful person and good friend.

Mimi and Mary, do either of you have any recordings that feature Tim's voice? I have told my vocalist grandson about all of you and our wonderful glee club, and would love to let him hear Tim's singing. He (grandson) has that same kind of voice--I hope that he continues with chorale and musical performance into middle and high school. (PS--he didn't get it from me!) I hope that many of you have continued to sing throughout your lives.

Wish I did have a recording of him singing.  I had one of him playint the piano but the person I gave it to (to be cleaned up and enhanced) lost it.  A tragic loss for me.

I always admired Tim's musical talent and he had such a wonderful sense of humor!  My fondest memory of Tim was a Greyhound bus ride we shared from Gainesville to Ft. Pierce (I think) when I was at University of Florida - so it must have been 1967-69 sometime.  We just happened to be on the same bus and sat together and I think we laughed -and sang a little - the entire bus ride, to the extent that people were turning around giving us the fish eye! Except for that ride, the words "enjoy" and "Greyhound Bus" were never words I used in the same sentence! Thanks Tim for your playing, singing and sense of fun.

Daniel Jesse

Tim Thomas was one of my best friends. He joked that my younger son Joel Thomas Jesse was named after him, and even though that was not the case, it could have been. Tim always tried his best to see something good, even when there was little to see. Tim was not only an accomplished musician, he was a master of the English language--- and his sense of humor was often based on language play. His liner notes for some of the nation's top musical organizations are works of art. He was a perfectionist-- His favorite saying was "Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect."  For some reason he was always worried about boring people, and yet he never did--- with the exception of his obsession with cars--- he could name the make, model and year of any car that passed by-- and did, Tim was a very kind person, and treated the world better than it sometimes treated him..... I miss Tim, especially when I think about how much he would have enjoyed the 21st century.

Hard to add anything of merit beyond Dan Jesse's comment so I will simply say Tim  was one of the most likeable people I knew.  Always so kind & always so pleasant.  It was a  pleasure to have known him.  I smile when I remember him.  Says a lot.

Tim was a very talented musician with a kind and gentle spirit.  He brought laughter and music to many and left this world a better place for having been here. He was always a special friend to me and he has been missed these many years.  May he rest in peace and may we treasure his memory.
