Josephine A. "Jo" (D'Angelo) Durnell

Josephine A. “Jo” (D’Angelo) Durnell, 80, of Fort Wayne passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. She was born on October 11, 1940 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Paul and Lena (Pusateri) D’Angelo. She was a 1958 graduate of South Side High School. She started Jo’s Beauty Nook in 1966 in her home and never stopped. She greatly appreciated her dedicated clientele. She actively participated in many aspects of the local Democratic Party. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile #60 and Embroidery Guild of America. She enjoyed cooking for anyone that walked in her door and was a sports fanatic. Most of all, though, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving family include her husband of 59 years, David; sons, Danial (Amanda), Michael (Kelly), and Philip (Denise) Durnell; 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her granddaughter, Kendra Durnell; and siblings, Carmela Meyers, and Jimmy and Sam D’Angelo. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons – Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse or Riley Hospital for Children.
