Suzanne Rahe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel on Mar. 8, 2024.

Suzanne "Sue" C. Rahe, age 83, of Winfield, IL, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, in St. Charles, IL. Born on May 18, 1940, in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Ruth Eisenhut and the cherished sister of the late Judith Eisenhut.
Sue was the beloved wife of Edward C. Rahe, to whom she was married for over 62 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. She was a loving mother to Edward (Clyo) Rahe, Brian Rahe, and Kathleen (Norman) Dillinger, and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Tori Dillinger, Caitlyn Rahe, Kelly Rahe, and James Dillinger. Her warmth and guidance were the cornerstones of the family, and her legacy of love will continue to flourish in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Sue was a dedicated nurse, a profession that allowed her to express her innate compassion and caring spirit. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her work, bringing comfort and kindness to those in need. Her passion for helping others was evident in everything she did, and her presence will be deeply missed within the nursing community.
Sue had a zest for life that was truly infectious. She adored the city of Chicago, where she found joy in the vibrant culture and bustling streets. Her adventurous spirit often led her to the sunny shores of Florida, where she cherished time spent at the beach, basking in the sunshine and creating lasting memories with her family. Her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled, and she reveled in every opportunity to be a part of their lives.
Described by many as loving, passionate, and adventurous, Sue's personality was a beacon of light to those around her. Her enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures was a reminder to all to cherish each moment. She approached every day with a sense of wonder and an open heart, inspiring others to do the same.
Sue's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating her remarkable life during a visitation on Sunday, March 10th, from 2 pm to 6 pm at DuPage Memorial Chapel, where the service will commence at 3 pm. The address is 951 W. Washington St, West Chicago, IL, 60185. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed to allow all who were touched by Sue's kindness to partake in her remembrance.
Sue's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her profession, and her ability to find joy in every experience. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, a family that adores her, and memories that will be cherished forever. As we bid farewell to Suzanne "Sue" C. Rahe, we hold tight to the lessons of love and adventure she imparted on us all. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have faded from view.

Attended James Smart Junior HS and South Side HS with Suzanne. At Smart they had dancing classes and more often than not she was my partner. Wonderful memories.
