It was my intention to live near family in Fort Wayne, but fate had other plans. I've lived in Miami FL, Farmington CT, Franklin MA, 4 cities in IL, and have spent the last 25 years in Texas. I am enjoying life and counting my blessings.

In 1958 South did not have a cheering block. I started a petition to start one, and Nancy Slick and I presented it to Mr. Snyder. I walked into his office with all the confidence and determination I could muster and presented our case along with the petition. He listened and said we could have one under the following conditions: we could not save seats for the block at games, we could practice at only 7:00 in the morning, etc. He set up a criteria that he knew would fail in time so he would only have to put up with us for one year. We left feeling victorios, but he had won. What a smart man. I smile whenever I remember the story.
