Obituary for Karen Ann Tope

GREENFIELD – Karen Ann (Lindenberg) Tope, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Walter & Guyla Lindenberg. She graduated from Fort Wayne South Side High School in 1958 and later attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She married William R. Tope on April 22, 1973 in Jamestown, Indiana.

Along with her husband for many years, she spent the majority of her career with International Harvester (Navistar) in Fort Wayne for 19 years, which brought her to central Indiana where she would retire in 2004. Karen, in her free time, enjoyed crosswords and sudoku puzzles, and online shopping/Facebook games.

Karen is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Tope of Greenfield; son, Daniel (Shannon) Tope of Greenfield; daughter, Therese “Tracey” (Dusten) Young of Bloomington, IN; brother, Tom (Marilyn) Lindenberg of Fort Wayne; sister, Janice (Bill) Clark of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Emily Lindenberg of Deland, FL; and 4 grandchildren. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Richard Lindenberg.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US HWY 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating.
