Judith Noe (Grieve)

 Judith "Judy" Grieve

Judith "Judy" Grieve, 75, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Judy was born September 4, 1939, in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of Dorothy and Eldon Noe. She graduated from Frankfort High School, attended Purdue University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, and received her Associates Degree from Richland Community College.
During Judy’s volunteer years, she was active in the Muffley School PTA, as well as city and district PTAs. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and served on the Girl Scout Board. Judy was also president of Junior Welfare and served as Residential Co-Chair for the United Way. During her work career, she attended many national conferences on behalf of the Tate & Lyle credit card program, winning a national service award for her work. She retired from Tate & Lyle after more than 20 years of service. In her retirement years, Judy enjoyed playing bridge, taking one day bus trips, meeting friends for lunches and reading. She was a member of All States Club and Staley Women’s Club. She had a rewarding retirement, in spite of her cancer journey, and lived life to the best of her ability.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Wene (Tom) of Decatur and Kirsten Grieve (Stephen Muzzatti) of Toronto, Ontario; a brother, Michael Noe of Frankfort, Indiana; her niece, Susan Burch (Tim) of Decatur; a close cousin, Barbara Schlottach (Wayne) of St. Louis and numerous other cousins, nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy had many fond memories of her various Mother/Daughter trips through the years; her girls were very special to her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wade and the staff at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois for their support, comfort and care during Judy’s cancer journey. The family also thanks her special friends, who were always available to help.

Celebration of Life for Judy Grieve will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation or the Humane Society of Decatur/Macon County.

What a good friend Judy has been to me all these years--it all began at her 3 year old birthday party!!  We haven't missed much since then, with all the ups and downs of life--Judy was always there..  So many giggles, tears, and adventures.  What fond memories I have of her and how much she will be missed.  Alice Pogue Maher

Jundy will be missed by Family and friends.  I was fortunate to get to have lunch with Judy and Sue Beeker Shore last year in Crawfordsville.  She has just learned of her illness but I didn't know that at the time.
