My condolences to Nancy and to the rest of Jerry's family..  Jerry was a person whom I can not remember when we first met.  He was always just there.  I think that probably it was at the Methodist Church,  because I believe that Jerry went to Lincoln Grade School.

I just don't remember a time that I didn't know Jerry.  He was truly one of the "gentle souls".  I never saw him angered, never heard a cross word from his mouth.  Just a personable and amiable individual.  I am saddened to know that he has passed on.  I will miss him.

So sorry to hear that Jerry had passed... he called me last week and sounded great.   Seems like I have known Jerry forever,  we went to Lincoln together, the FHS.  Over the years so many memories.  Like the time at either Thanksgiving or Christmas, everyone was home from college for the holidays and someone decided we should go hunting.   I did not own a gun or have a license, but Jerry supplied a shotgun and several of us went rabbit hunting at at Ed Mitchells parents place.  Don't think we got a single rabbit.   I remember going to Fort Leanord Wood in Missouri to pick him up after he finished boot camp.  Dwain Miller and I drove down so we would arrive after midnight and they could leave.  There was Jerry, Ed Mitchell, and two other, one was Dwains cousin. After the service, Jerry worked at the Attica hospital lab,  he had purchased a new Mercury convertible and driving back to Frankfort one night he hit a deer which went over the top of the car and riped the convertible top (I think it was also winter). The Attica hospital was here he met Nancy his wife, she was a nurse there.    So many stories.   RIP Jerry

I, too, go way back with Jerry.  We both lived on Burlington Avenue, me at the top of the hill and Jerry at the bottom by the park.  He went to Lincoln and I to Riley, but there were a bunch of us kids that played together in our late grade school, early high school years:  Jerry, Jim Bricker, my brother, Tom, Jay Scott and I.  When we started going to FHS, Jerry had an old car early on and would get Bricker then come up the hill and get me.  We had good times and Jerry’s folks were always friendly to us when we played down there.  One thing about Jerry I marveled at at the time was that he had NO fear of the dark.  Over the years I’ve enjoyed remembering  that about Jerry.  Hell, I could hardly go away from the street light and Jerry would go on some lone reconnaissance mission into the dark undeveloped parts of our neighborhood!  He was never killed even once in the darkness!  Anyway, Jerry was a good, easygoing guy that I spent a lot of time with and that remember fondly.   Larry
