David Elphinstone

David D. Elphinstone, 68, of Lehigh Acres, and long-time resident of Sarver, Pa., and Ashland, Ky., died on Sunday, July 4. He was a retired engineer from U. S. Steel and AK Steel, and an active member of local churches while residing in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Florida. Elphinstone, was a proud graduate of Freeport High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family.Elphinstone is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years Bonnie Elphinstone, daughter Pam (Randy) Newburger of Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter Sue Elphinstone of Tampa, Fla., son Mike (Kelly) Elphinstone of Pittsburgh, Pa.,, granddaughter Melissa (Mike) Klug, grandson Tony Zamperini, granddaughter Grace Elphinstone, and brother Bob Elphinstone of Portersville, Pa. Elphinstone was predeceased by his parents, David S. Elphinstone and Louise (Schneider) Elphinstone.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 8 at First Presbyterian Church in Lehigh Acres. A memorial service will also be scheduled at United Presbyterian Church in Freeport, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his honor to First Presbyterian Church, 60 Bell Blvd. N, Lehigh Acres, FL 33974.

I was just informed today that David passed away July 4th, 2010.  He and his wife had planned to attend the reunion.  I had talked with him on the phone just a few weeks ago.  We will miss  him and offer our sincere condolances to his wife and family.
