Welcome to the Gaithersburg High Class Of 1964 web site. This is a permanent point of contact for the GHS Class of '64 and it will have information about the upcoming Class Reunion, a means of locating & getting in touch with your classmates, and a handy vehicle for keeping us up to date about your contact information or things you feel are of interest to your classmates.

Take a little time to explore the site and 'play' with the various features.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our 45th Reunion is just a few months away  (hard to believe it's been 45 years since we graduated, huh?).  The dinner/dance is Friday September 25 and the Picnic is the next day - Saturday September 26th.  Full details are available under the Reunion link to the left.  You should recceived a letter from the Reunion Committee right after Memorial Day 2009 with details and sign-up info and forms - Please respond (and send us a check) when you get the letter (you know - we are getting to the point that we forget things more frequently than before - so send it back while you are thinking about the Reunion).  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE LETTER BY THE END OF MAY 2009 - send a note using the Contact Us link to the left and give us your current address, email and phone contact information - we'll get it out to you immediately!

If you think of something that you feel would be a useful addition to our site, use the message feature to drop a note to us.  We are interested in making this site a functional and valuable destination that you will visit regularly.

The GHS Class of '64 Reunion Committee

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hi All...hope you are well and enjoying what ever you are doing these days. We are all looking forward to #45 in September and would like to make contact with those 50+ who are just not "findable"....the committee calls them MIAs. We are looking for a Lester Blood connection...he came to #40 and we know he was in the process of retiring from dentistry (Dr. Blood the dentist??!) and moving to Florida. His old email bounced....help us find Lester!

Our GHS 64 class president, Harold Allen, has been living in Utah these past ten or so years. His wife Vicky is a fantastic girl and they both came to #35 Reunion. Well, now Harold is fighting a major battle with cancer and doing his best to get that under control with the help of his family, medical crew and modern technology. Check out Harold (don't worry if everyone out there calls him "Gordon"...he is still Harold to us GHS-ers.).....on his blog: www.caringbridge.org/visit/gordonallen for his updates. He is now in PT and out of the hospital...fighting this thing like hell we hear. He is in our prayers and thoughts. Drop him a note when you can. He really does want to come back to Maryland in September for the #45.....

There is a fund established on the website in case you wish to make a donation. These expenses for his recovery and treatment are huge and it is my understanding that his insurance company is giving them trouble on coverage. Go ahead and register your name on the site and you can read the many messages from his friends around the globe.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at #45. Stay safe and eat your brussel sprouts this summer!

The Reunion is just around the corner - time to RSVP and begin planning to join your friends and classmates for some memories, catch-up and lots of laughs  - - along with some great food, drink and fantastic music (Stuff we can remember and still enjoy).

A letter is on the way to you in late May - read it for more specifics about the GHS Class of 64  45th Reunion events and send back the RSVP form to get registered for what will be the very best 45th Reunion you will ever attend

The Reunion Committee has put a lot of time and thought into the planning for us to get together to have a good time - imagine these folks have been planning this reunion for 45 years now, so it should be pretty cool

Seriously, it will be great to see you and to have a chance to catch up, relive some stories from GHS days (or maybe live down some knuckleheaded things we may have done - but still refuse to admit to).  Times may be tight, and the economy is sure scary, but this is something that is truely unique and the memories from these two days will stay with you for a long time.  Remember Miguel, our classmate from Argentina - he sent a note to say that there is hardly a day that goes by that he does not think about his time with us at GHS - that's the kind of memories we're talking about.

I hope to see you in September - click on the links to the left for more information and some other stuff about our class and those years so long ago.

Jack
