John Sparlin Sparlin

Graduated from college with a Masters degree. Receive a Commission in the USAF. Married to a wonderful Australian women for 30 plus years.

Enlisted in the USAF after graduation as a Jet Engine Mechanic and serving from 1968 until 1975. Saw a lot of Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan, Japan). Attended Texas State University (Southwest Texas State) in San Marcos, TX while working at the Gary Job Corp Center from 1977 to 1979. Rejoined the USAF for Officer Training in 1980 and was commissioned as a Air Weapons Director flying on C-130's for 4 years. Served 3 years in Germany at a Forward Radar Station seeing Europe (German, France, Britain, Spain, Italy, Sardinia, Belgium, Holland and Saudi Arabia). From 1986 to 1993 was stationed at Shaw AFB, SC but spent most of my time before and during the first Gulf war in the Saudi, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and other places. Met my wife (Sharon) in 1988 while deployed to Saudi and we married in Bahrain (May 1988).
