Wow... What a trip down memory lane. Wonderful to see everyone on Saturday. Just checked out the pictures. More great memories!! Lets not wait until 35 or 40. Love the idea of a picnic potluck in the summer or meeting up at a comedy club.

Hey Patty - thanks for reminding me about how to sort fruit flies - best lab partner ever!!! You haven't changed a bit.

Great Job Reunion Committee. It was so nice to see everyone and I thought everyone looked really great. It's been nice to reconnect with people.

What GREAT photos, I've loved perusing them and seeing all of you after so many years! I often utilized the "zoom" key to catch names on the tags! It looked like a wonderful evening. Congrats. to the Committee for what seems a memorable occasion. Should future class events arise and coincide with my travels to Michigan, I'd love to join in the fun. P.S. All photos were great, but the St. Raphael group photo was sentimental.

The reunion was so much fun. My face and my feet hurt from talking, laughing and dancing but is well worth it. I am sorry that I didn't get to talk to everyone that i wanted to but know that I tried to get to everyone to see how your life was going.

To the reunion committee, awesome job. Great food, great music and you all deserve a pat on the back for your commitment.

Too much fun...look forward to the next one.

Kudos to the Reunion Committee!! What a great time. It didn't seem like 30 years had passed by. It was as if everybody picked up from where they left off. I look forward to the next time we all meet again!! Stay healthy!

A HUGE SUCCESS TO THE COMMITTEE!
PHENOMINAL JOB is an understatement.
I am grateful I had the OPPORTUNITY to attend, some were not as fortunate as US. Us....we....our...HISTORY.

Remember some of us met at age 4 or 5, we are now 48? For me it was like a 43 yr reunion with a few!!!

Funny to me, how I had debated about going.....(last October 2008 because I was OFF at the Ten year? I realized the past 10 years ESPECIALLY (over 40 thing!!)that "life is entirely too short" to be worrying about things, sweatin the small things, sweatin while your there (MENOPAUSE!) wondering what others would think about how I look, if I gained weight, if my marriage wasn't perfect, if I was going thru a divorce, or was considering one now, if they would think less because I didnt have the BIG degree, or because my husband didnt come....or that I didnt wash my car before I came. NO ONE DID!......for those that may have, only you know that.

And Patty I like your idea....Garden City Park, summer thing, 31..32? We can compile an address list too?

But it was a super ball blast from the past...
Larry Conn...I remember you! I was like I remember you too, do you remember what I did? He said no...I said me neither!

Cynthia, Mary E, Sue, Julie, Patty..and many others who waited until the last DAMN MINUTE!!!!
Arent you glad you came now! i AM SO GLAD YOU DID, IT WOULD NOT OF BEEN THE SAME WITHOUT YOU!!
i WENT TO SEE MY GIRLS AND MOST OF YOU WERE THERE.
Adele, i lost you during the burger photo....THEN???
Never saw you again..I was bummed. Mike Barry -last minute! We'll be in touch
Larry Fruit...it was last Novemeber we started emailing- how fun was that!...You were in your truck all over the country - still emailing!!!

Had a good time, it was nice to see everyone. There are a few things i learned at this reunion, the first is that ya really cant go back,No matter how old ya get, when your with the people ya went to high school with ya always feel like the geeckey 10th grader.like ya just dont belong to a group.I noticed that i had more conversation with the spouses of classmates than my actual classmates.Yes, i did get a few hellos, but when approached, most just said hello than they were done and went back to the same people they hung out with back in the day,I did have some great conversation with kathy baker and her hubby, who if it wasnt for her i would have left about 9pm. Im not dissing anyone its just that when the people ya hung out with dont show up, ya really feel lost. i hope that in the future people open up a bit more.
im really not that same geck i was back in 79.

Gc West --Reunion Committee

Sorry to hear you felt that way Beth, especially after traveling such a long distance. Kudos to Kathy Baker for helping you to feel more comfortable. The Beth Grace we remember was outgoing, involved and funny—not a geek. Take a look in the yearbook. It IS harder when the people you hung around with don’t attend; they are your “comfort zone”. Perhaps others were feeling exactly like you. Communication / conversation is a two-way street that is often hard to go down for all of us when it's with someone we haven't seen in a while.

But mostly, Beth, thanks for sharing your feelings. It makes us all think a little more.

BETH YOU WERE THE ONE THAT GREETED ME.... I lost some people, being pulled in different directions, photos, going to the bar, then the restroom, back to a table to complete a conversation that I never did like with Adele Borg...She went to get me a beer, I was eating, got dragged for the maplewood photo..I never saw here after...?? Others said yeah she's still here...we were on oppositie ends of the room...Some people I said hello to on this site, and didnt et to say hello to them there...Next thing we know its 1100pm. calling Mike Barry on the phone... the shuttles coming..I missed the parties...just went home..You should of came over....Most the people I didnt know a handful of girls and many I didnt know I decided to write here at this site.
You looked beautiful... send me a line!
Were you one that did the marathon?...
I cant remember alot...but two of my favorite girls werent there. I got some emails and phone numbers...Just today I put them on my computer and phone
It was nice chatting with you here...and briefly there at the door!

So sorry we could not make the reunion. Really wish we could have attended to see everyone but will make sure we are at the next one.

It was amazing to view the pictures and we just enjoyed that part of it - so much fun. Also noticed some of the false pictures and you know who you are - to funny.

Wish we could have shared in the fun but look forward to the future reunion. We will update our profile soon.

Everyone looks great! Hope to hear from some of you and wish all of you a world of peace and happiness.

Hi Dave Wilkie and Loretta,
I was writing Loretta, then just never heard back...I was bummed, we were just starting to chat via email.

I had a fire at my house, so I had no email contacts. I had to rely on those who emailed me on a computer I borrowed and downloaded mail from my server directly. So needless to say I did not have my "Outlook" account accessible.

Thats why I did not try to contact Loretta again July 31 - oct 17...
My computer wasnt up until after that.
Missed you guys.

Just going over some of my reunion photos. I like to THANK the reunion committee for a fantastic job. The hotel room, food and music were perfect. And the photographer was pure genius. Of course the time went by way to quick, right when I was starting to warm up, LOL. Oh yeah, the web site is great, visit it just about everyday. Just one thing for next time, a slide show of pictures from high school. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays.

Hi All, long time no see. I'm sorry that I missed the 30th, but do have fond memories of the 25th. It looks like most had a good time.

One of the reasons that I came here was to see if I could find info on Jim Hamm and Bob Smith. I'm sad to hear of our loses. I remember Jim from way back, I did have the chance to see a couple of his comedy shows and will miss him. God Bless.

Also, Bob Smith and I went to the 25th together. I remember we both said we would only stay a short time, say hi then split, actually he was the one who talked me into going in the first place. It wasn't long before I was out on the dance floor and Bob came up to me and said he didn't want to leave, he was having too much fun, of course I agreed!!!! It was Great. We actually got a room, and stayed way into the next morning partying.. After, He went back up north, and I back to Highland. We talked a couple of times on the phone, then lost communications. One thing I'm sure that if anyone knows of Bob and Jim, they both really enjoyed life! We will miss them both I'm sure, I DO.

It was enjoyable to see the pictures from the 30th renunion. It's funny how we all change, some look just like I remember them, and some even better! lol. I like the idea of having a get together on the off years, count me in.

Times have surely changed in 30 years, and so have we. We have lost some friends, gained some new, and hopefully we can re-unite with others from the past. Of course the ones that we have lost will not be forgotten, all of them.

Smile! Enjoy! Keep in touch! Until Then.... Tom

Hi All,

It's been a minute.

I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy?

It hit me as I ordered my youngest daughters cap and gown last week that she will graduate high school exactly 40 years after we all graduated. A big reminder of the woderful memories and shared experience we all had growing up in Garden City.

Some of us have managed to stay in touch and get together in pockets here and there over the last 10 years. Do we want to plan on a 40th reunion?  Christing (Gregory) Gopigian and I are interested.

I would love to see you all, here about where you have been, what you have done, and share memories of our time together at GC West High School.

Let me know what you think? I am happy to help with putting something together.

Fondly,

Laurie (Homann) DeJack

If y’all decide to have a 40th reunion, I will definitely attend. Had a nice flashback this weekend, went to a Bad Co./ Lynard Skynard concert. Aaaaahhh!, nothing like good Geriatric Rock and Roll.
