My kids have been the primary focus of my life.
I was a stay at home mom, worked part-time to contribute toward household income. Took college classes, never obtained a degree (psychology and computers.) except beauty school, real estate school, and some misc. schoolcraft classes. In 2006 I attended computer classes at New Horizons business school for Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Real Estate One School,1982 graduated from David Pressley Professional School of Cosmetology, 1986-1988, Royal Oak, MI .
I was an executive/administrative assistant for 9 years prior with Westin Hotels.
Anyone remember me doing hair in Junior high? I still do hair to this day for family & friends.
Bartended / waited tables while attending school . Waitressed for 5 years part-time 2 evenings at Deluca's when I lived in DRBN.HTS. and my kids were babies 1992-1997 when I moved TO NEW BOSTON.
I got cancer 1998 after moving in my new home, and recovered from that and discovered my artistic abilities again. I was in Studio Arts all through high school and absolutely loved it!
I participated in Fine Art Shows for 5 years. My work made front page of the Plymouth Observer in 2002 during the Plymouth Art Festival.
I've written a few articles on breast cancer, participated in fashion shows, volunteered at Karmanos in a program briefly to help women make decisions, share my experiences with those who were undecided about surgery, treatment possibilities -- I am a 2 x breast cancer survivor, 2nd recurrence jan 2005. 3rd time now getting surgery February
Im into going to beach, kayak, canoeing boating, taking care of hubby.
Currently have health problems, breast issues again- surgery soon
Love doing nature photos, flowers butterflies sunsets etc. Photography now w photos in my home sell too
He has made MANY pieces custom in our home, entertainment center, built in cherry desk, wall unit, laundry center, daughters bedroom furniture, cutting boards, coffee/end tables. A VERY TALENTED MAN I HAVE!
I Travel to the UP every summer to a family homestead whre my father lives. It's so beautiful there. We like to CRUISE, carribean, mexico go to South Beach, Motorcycle Ride, usually East Coast. My husband is in a Bike Club, and he's a motor-head, builds bikes, rides, woodworks-his prime hobby, and I love interior design. Has tattoos's ..ok I said it...but thats him
I computer browse recipes, horoscopes, MSN homesite, facebook , email, study medical stuff, especially with my history, and some family history things related to our lives which helps me help others too.
I've done childrens outdoor photos, and my own kids, family weddings, outdoor landscapes.-freelance some, cooking and creating salsa, sauces, favor Italian foods, pizza is still my favorite! Gardening with my son--he plants, I can/freeze it it.
Comedy shows and comedy clubs, I LOVE THEM!!. My sis and are are going to do a stand up act one day ----we threaten to do so....it wont be clean comedy though, she's tough!
I went to the 10 year reunion and I wasn't real comfortable. I think because I was single, and was finishing cosmetology school that year, AND I was waitressing and I think I felt inadequate (being honest), my reuniondate/boyfriend just dumped me that week - so I had no date.
I went to the reunion with my BFF Kathy Sikorski & she was hoping to see a certain guy (Tom Williamson!!! but he wasnt there....) she thought he was the shit then..... Kathy was one grade lower than me, her birthday was 2 weeks after the Dec 1, cutoff date. Kathy, a BFF since age 12 we stayed in contact throughout all those years... Kathy, she passed May 3, 2007 after a 10 year battle with Cancer. Ironically Kathy and I went through it together both times, her second mid 2004 (unbelievable!!) My mom and I both diagnosed Jan 05... ...imagine me, Kathy and my mom...all bald together.....I am the survivor....10/09 4 YRS.
I'm hoping to reconnect socially, be facebook friends or e-mail with old friends, and would love to know how others are living/doing, share life stories, and get together to reminisce.
My kids.. are both very smart and funny like I was (THE FUNNY PART!). I actually graduated on the silver role, surprised even me!
I'm planning to attend the 30 year reunion. Hopefully some of us can reconnect and share our life's stories...if we remember...(LOL)
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. I wish I would of pursued that.
From High School, I'd like to see Sue Wilson, Karen Halser, they are a big part of my Junior high years. Sue, she lived behind me, AND we had fun for many years. Karen Halser we had the best time! I often wonder why we hadn't stayed in touch. Even Lucy Honeycutt, she lived across the street from me. I don't remember if she graduated? Becky Livernois and I hung out in elementary school....some of Junior high a bit, I remember she had a baby really young..I was her godmother..
What happend to those girls?
