In Memory

Dottie Camby (Johnson)

GASTONIA - Dottie Camby Johnson celebrated her 36th birthday on Jan. 31.

She passed away on Feb. 16, 2011.

Dottie fought a strong, hard battle with colon cancer for three years. She loved her children more than anything in this world. Dottie is the strongest, most courageous person we know. She has never complained or asked, "Why Me." Dottie has taught us all more in three years than we could ever learn in a lifetime. The world will be a sadder place without her.

Dottie is preceded in death by her paw-paw, Vernon Treece and her cousin, Kalee Treece.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Jason Johnson of Bessemer City, her children, Taylor and Jason Johnson of the home; father, Wayne Camby and mother, Kathy Annette Treece; grandmother, Dot Treece; brother, Billy Camby; sister, Samantha Camby and brother-in-law, Michael Thomas and neice, Jalyn Marie Thomas all of Gastonia; uncle and aunt, Michael and Susan Treece of Shelby; aunt, Sharon Eller of Bessemer City; mother-in-law, Teresa Haskins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Jeff Vandall; neice and nephews, Nikki, Charlie and Jeffery all of Bessemer City.

A memorial service was held in her honor at New Life Baptist Church located at 614 S. 11th Street in Bessemer City on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 3 p.m. officiated by Rev. Gene Ware.

At a later date in the spring, when all the flowers are in bloom, we will also have a Celebration of Life, just as Dottie wished.

Condolences may be sent to www.greenefuneral.com.

Arrangements are with Greene Funeral Service – West Chapel, Gastonia.
