April 2023

COUNTDOWN!!

It's hard to believe that our highly successful 45th Reunion was over 6 months ago already. That means there are less than 4 1/2 years to go until our BIG 50TH REUNION! And it's never too early to try and reach every single classmate before that. We need all hands on deck to help locate all of the 'Missing Classmates' so they don't miss the opportunity to attend this milestone event.

Please click on the "Missing Classmates" tab on the top menu bar and check out the list. Thank you.

A huge THANK YOU to all those who attended the GHS Class of '77 45th Reunion this past weekend!!  Our turnout was great and lots of fun was had by all!! Please send any photos from the weekend so they can be shared on this site.

CLICK on "Class of 1977 Photos" on the upper left menu on the home page for a photo gallery. More pics to follow.

Special thanks to the awesome Reunion Committee for all their hard work to help make this event such a huge success, and also to the following:

To all the claassmates who donated to our Class service project, Rachel's Corner, an organization at GHS that helps underprivileged students. A shout-out to Beth Vensel Robinson for the great suggestion. In total, we raised $1570!!

It was great seeing Mr. Roe, Mr. Kujala, and Mr. Zimny!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 50-50 Raffle. Congrats to Jesse Bilicic who won $115. We now have $115 in the bank for our 50th Reunion.

Brad Ellis... for obtaining the tee times at Madison Country Club for the Saturday morning golf outing.

Tim Allen and the GOTL Brewing Co. for hosting the Friday evening gathering.

Brittany and Debonne Vineyard for our Saturday evening gathering. It was a beautiful setting, with good food and drinks, and a really enjoyable time catching up with everyone.

And to the many, many classmates who donated gifts for our door prizes; we were overwhelmed with your generosity... a sincere thanks!

GENEVA HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF '77 IS TRULY A SPECIAL CLASS!!

We had over 80 classmates, guests, and teachers attend our reunion events this past weekend.  We certainly missed all those who could not attend, but hope to see everyone at our 50TH REUNION in 2027!!.

Please continue to update your profiles when any information changes, especially e-mail.  And please continue to let us know of information on any missing classmates.  We can only make this better if we are able to contact EVERY classmate.

Again... our sincere THANKS!!  It was truly a fun weekend!!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Aloha Everyone !! Dave Farrell here . Again , thanks all for the concerns - what a wonderful group of people compose our class !! I have not been involved with any standard / conventional form of social media for 5 years plus . I just don’t like it . I do love to hear from my friends past , present and future !! My email is : davefarrellmaui @gmail.com and my phone # is 808.463.8900 . Drop me a text or email or message - I would love to say Hi ! I know a few have tried to reach me through Facebook- I particularly don’t like that platform , no offense to anyone who does … I like the old fashioned ways haha . Anyways , I look forward to hearing from you !! Thanks again and many Alohas !

Hi Everyone !! Dave Farrell here . I thank you all for your concern about the terrible fires on Maui . I no longer live on Maui - I moved to Oahu at the end of last year ; the weather in the winters where I had a mooring and lived on my sailboat were just too harsh . I now live in a place called Keehi Lagoon . It is one harbor over from Pearl Harbor in Honolulu Hawaii . It is much more protected than the west side of Maui and I like it very much . I am very lucky to not have been on Maui and experience the horrific fires . My heart breaks for all who have suffered and perished in this horrible horrible natural disaster . Winds were blowing consistently at 80 knots with gusts to 91 knots - no one in the path of any fire had a chance . I experienced sitting out multiple hurricanes ( close approaches ) in 2018 and it was petrifying - winds then topped out at 78 knots . Please say a prayer / blessing in whatever faith you believe in or practice for those gone and those still struggling . Many of my friends have lost everything and as searching continues I imagine and fear many of my friends have died . Life truly can change in the blink of an eye … This sadness reminds me daily of the blessing of life we have every day . Thank you my friends and classmates - I wish you all wonderful blinks .
