Trudy Lemon Ruth

I may not be exactly where I want to be 20 years after graduation, but I have been happily married for almost 13 years, have two wonderful kids, and a career which I truly love. Every day is a blessing, and I see each day as a journey to fulfill the dreams I have remaining. The accomplishment I am most proud of? Completing the Iron Girl Sprint-Distance Triathlon in April, 2008, together with my 11-year-old daughter, who was the youngest competitor. That felt REALLY good!

Meeting my soon-to-be best friend at the pencil sharpener in Math class. Although I was quite impressed with how friendly everyone was at GHS compared to the high school I left in NJ, I was still rather reserved. However, I was seated in the front left corner of Math class right next to the pencil sharpener. Of course lots of kids came over to sharpen their pencils, but there was one person with whom I made eye contact, and eventually exchanged a simple "hi", which progressed into a solid friendship that lasted all through high school. Fortunately, we still keep in touch.
