Marcus's smile could light up a room. He really was one of the kindest, sweetest souls I have ever known. He will be missed by many.

I married my high school sweetheart and though we didn't stay together forever--he forever had a place in my heart. He had a zest for life like no other and he truly was just a great person to be around. Everyone that knew him loved him dearly. He will be missed.

I am flabber-gasted. I saw Marcus in 2004, it seems like a few months back. He was always smiling and never had a bad thing to say. My prayers and sympathy go out to his loved ones and friends.

I have had a really hard time trying to put my thoughts into words up to this point. I will always consider Marcus as being one of my closest friends. Marcus, Wes Garwood and I were like the 3 amigos. We were like brothers. Marcus was my room mate for many years and I have so many good memories of those times. He was the kind of person who was good at everything he did. He was an amazing athlete. We spent most of our 20's watching or playing basketball. Marcus loved to play basketball. He always had more energy than anybody else on the court. Marcus was a little vertically challenged, but that never stopped him from getting nearly every rebound he went for. He was a spark plug on the court and in life. His energy was infectous. He made everbody laugh. He cared about everybody. He would always make sure everybody felt included or important. More recently, Marcus attended Church with my family and I. My family loved having him around. Gavin, my 5 year old, started crying and said "but I am going to miss him" when I told him. We are all going to miss him. He was my brother. I love him and I miss him.
