Marcia Comstock (Alderfer)

Woodstock, Vt. — Marcia C. Alderfer of Woodstock and Stuart, Fla. passed away on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She passed peacefully in the arms of her husband and daughter. She was born in Hartford, Conn. in 1941 to Peter and Charlotte Comstock of Essex, Conn.

She graduated from Northfield Mt. Hermon School in 1959 and attended Connecticut College. She spent her earlier years as a homemaker and loving mother to her two children, Chuck and Kate, and her later years enjoying a new marriage to the love of her life, with lots of travelling across America and Europe. She adored her three sisters, Bobbi, Connie and Patty, and she had many cherished friends. She lived her life with great enthusiasm and optimism, and friends and family were at the center of everything she did.

She was predeceased by her son, Chuck Littel, and her sister, Bobbi Ronshagen. She leaves behind her loving husband, Brian Alderfer of Woodstock; her daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Andy Friedland of Norwich, Vt.; a sister and brother-in-law, Patty and George Wilson, of Woodstock, and a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Hugh Leahy of Lake Wales, Fla. She also leaves behind her cherished grandsons, Jared and Ethan Friedland of Norwich and Spencer Littel of Arvada, Colo.

A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held on Oct. 26 from 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Woodstock Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MHMH-Cardiology Nursing Fund, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Office of Development, c/o Michele Clark, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
