THE CLASS THAT OPENED MANY SCHOOLS

Back in the early 1950's the north part of San Fernando Valley started growing rapidly.  It was growing so fast they suddenly needed many more schools to handle the influx of students.  We became the class that opened new schools.

Northridge Junior High opened November 15, 1954, with 1000 students from Fulton Middle School in Van Nuys, California.  While we didn't open this school... many of us started our Junior High Years there in 1955.

Patrick Henry Junior High opened in 1957 for the Spring Semester and the students were pulled from Northridge Junior High and San Fernando Junior High.  We graduated from there in 1958.

James Monroe High School opened in the fall in 1958 and again, students came from Patrick Henry and San Fernando Junior High Schools.  

After one and a half years, Granada Hills High School opened for the Spring class of 1960.  Students who went to Granada came from James Monroe High School and Reseda High School and we all graduated in 1961.
