I dont want to be the bearer of bad news, however, Pat Sullivan passed away on July 18th, he was an intregal part of our high school and he affected so many young and old people in such a positive way. He will be missed by many.

Patrick George Sullivan

Patrick George Sullivan, September. 16, 1942 – July 18, 2009. Beloved Husband and Father and teacher and coach.

Pat was born September 16, 1942 to Harold and Margaret Sullivan. He grew up and attended schools in East Grand Forks, MN. Pat graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High and then began coaching at Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, as he worked his way through college at UND. He graduated in Physical Education in 1964 lettering in track, throwing the shot put.

He married Diane Muus on November 3, 1963 at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN. They moved to Dos Palos, CA in 1965 where he taught and coached. In 1966 they moved to Fulda, MN where he also taught and coached. In 1967 they moved back to Grand Forks where Pat taught Physical Education and Driver’s training at Grand Forks Central High School. He coached Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball and was selected Coach of the Year. He also coached Boys and Girls Track, Cross Country and Football.

Pat was very dedicated and never missed a day of school in all thirty-seven years of his teaching career.

Pat retired in 2002 to live on Lake Bemidji. They built their dream home there in 2006. Pat enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming and relaxing with his family.

Pat is survived by: his wife, Diane; sons: Sean of Fargo and Casey (Darla) of Grand Forks; four grandchildren: Joseph (11), Grant (8), Ryan (3), and Kathryn (2); his mother, Margaret Sullivan; sisters: Raanne (Gene) Wavra, and Rita (Ted) Pond; nieces: Michelle Zeleny and Mary Beth Zeleny; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Snooks Sullivan.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kristi Ann Lowe, 39, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her home in Grand Forks after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Kristi Ann Lowe, 39, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her home in Grand Forks after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Kristi Ann Lowe was born July 18, 1970 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Duane and Connie (Johnson) Lowe. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1988. Kristi attended college in Wahpeton, ND before joining the U.S. Air Force. She was stationed at March Air Force Base near Marino Valley, CA. Following her military service, Kristi returned to Grand Forks. She earned her Pharmacy Technician training from Northland Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN. Kristi worked for University Hospital of Oklahoma. She graduated with a business degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Kristi then returned to Grand Forks where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician for Altru Hospital.

Kristi loved being in the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with her family. She believed strongly in working hard and playing hard. Kristi’s fun loving spirit touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed.

Kristi also enjoyed volunteering at her nephews’ schools and her work with Camp Good Morning. She was recently able to help start a cancer support group and was passionate about the need in the community.

Survivors include her parents, Duane and Connie Lowe, Grand Forks; sister, Sara (Matt) Mutzenberger, Grand Forks; nephews, Jake, Luke and Wyatt Mutzenberger all of Grand Forks.

Kristi was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents,

Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks.

Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church.

Just wanted to tell everyone what a great time I had this past weekend seeing everyone that came.  30 years later and we have just as much fun if not more fun together!!   We continue to make memories to last a lifetime!  Hope you all stay happy and healthy and I look forward to the next time we see each other!!    Let's not wait another 10 years.  :-)  At our ages we might need to start having impromtu get togethers at least every 5.
