After graduation, I went to UND for a while, but decided to follow Dave to South Sioux City, Nebraska. We married in December of 89 and shortly after we started our family. We moved to Detroit Lakes in 1991. I was a stay at home mom (did daycare for a couple of years) until 6 years ago, I decided that I needed re-enter the adult world. That's when I began my adventure at the Pelican River Watershed District. I have a tri-position. I am the educational coordinator, lakeshore inspector (permitting on shoreline projects), and the bookkeeper. By far my favorite part is youth education, not so fond of violation enforcement. If I were allowed to wear a fancy uniform and carry a shiny gun, maybe I'd like it more?
UPDATE: November 18, 2008 I am starting a new job with Briggs, Ramstad, & Skoyles. (law firm in DL)
In January, Dave bought an insurance agency in DL. In his spare time, he plays fireman. He's the Assistant Fire Chief, I prefer calling him Ass Chief.
By far, my biggest accomplishments are my 3 children and being married for 18 years.
I enjoy attending my kids' events. Somehow, we fit in volleyball, softball, baseball, basketball, choir, & plays... wouldn't have it any other way!
We like to travel and unfortunately our kids are picking up on it. Ashley had the opportunity (per her parents' pocketbook) to go to Rome and sing for the Pope (they kinda missed their intro, so not sure if the Pope heard them or not? We choose to believe he did. Wouldn't suggest allowing your blonde daughter to run around on the loose in Italy... just a suggestion).
2018 Update:
Left my position at the law firm a few years ago, I call my current status pretirement.
Still married to the same guy that makes me laugh every darn day & we're excited to watch our family grow.
