Crookston, Minn. - Jennifer Marie "Jen" Olslund, 36, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Monday, November 24, 2008. Jen was born on September 20, 1972 in Utah, the daughter of John and Ann (Kidston) Wykoff. She was raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was a 1990 graduate from Red River High School. Jen received most of her secondary education in Denver, Colorado and at the University of North Dakota. On July 12, 2003, she was united in marriage to her soul mate Todd Olslund at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Crookston and together they were raising their two children. Of all Jen’s accomplishments she was most proud of her two little angels, Amber and Ian. In addition, Jen was passionate about helping others. She was a registered nurse at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks and was very close to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Jen loved her job and was looking forward to continuing her education. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and working outdoors but most of all spending time with family and friends. Jen’s contagious smile and charismatic personality will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all who shared in her life.
Loving family members include her husband, Todd and their two children, Amber and Ian; mother and father, John and Ann Wykoff of Denver, CO; sister, Kristi Wykoff of Denver; grandma, Velma also of Denver; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Sharon Olslund of Crookston, MN; brother-in-law, Trent Olslund and his wife, Aria and their two children, Thalia and Thaoden; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives, to include Todd’s great-aunt, Edna Kvamme of Twin Valley, MN. Jen was preceded in death by her grandparents.
