Dolores "Dedi" Smith, 53, of Grand Forks, ND died of natural causes Monday, September 7, 2009 in Grand Forks, ND.

Dolores I. Bratton was born on February 19th, 1956 in Slayton, MN, the daughter of James Clayton and Marie Jean (Ovsak) Bratton. Dolores moved with her family to Grand Forks, ND in 1963. She attended school at St. Michael's Catholic School, Valley Junior High and graduating with the Class of 1974 from Grand Forks Central High School. In 1981 she moved to Minneapolis, MN. On November 18, 1983 she was united in marriage to Glenn "Drooper" Smith in Minneapolis, MN. They moved back to Grand Forks, ND in 1993. Dolores lived in rural Reynolds, ND for 10 years and then moved back to Grand Forks in 2007. Dolores worked primarily in food service including the Grand Forks Public School System and also the Holiday Inn Express in Grand Forks, ND.

Family members who survive Dolores include her husband Glenn of Grand Forks, ND; two sons: Cory Ringdahl of Oakland, CA, Jared Smith of Grand Forks, ND and one daughter: Janna Smith of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter: Caitlyn Cole; siblings: Charlotte Hanson of Morris, MN, Ruth (Jim) Strack of Arlington, MN, Dayton Bratton of Fargo, ND, Jim Bratton of Grand Forks, ND, Judith "Margo" Bratton (Don Bailey) of Minneapolis, MN, Cheryl "Piko" Bratton of Grand Forks, ND and John (Sonia) Bratton of East Grand Forks, MN and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dolores in death is her parents; infant brother; sister: Rosemary and brother-in-law, Byron Hanson.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Grand Forks, ND.
