Lynn Marie Bailey was born on December 19, 1953 the youngest child of five children born to Charles and Bessie Mathews in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Lynn attended and graduated from Grand Rapids Public Schools. Lynn worked at Klumps Leather as a seamstress. She later moved her talents to Rogers Department Store where she ran their alterations department for many years until they closed their doors. With her many talents she began work at Kim Kriners Bridal Shop until her mother fell ill and she moved in to take care of her.

In 1979 Lynn married Tommy Bailey and from this union came her only child, Alicia Nicole Bailey.

Lynn was a woman with unlimited talent and she shared that talent with everyone in her life. From making bridesmaids dresses to angels made from just about anything you could think of, Lynn was brilliant with a sewing machine. There wasn't anything that she couldn't do or make all she needed was pattern and sometimes not even that.

Lynn's spirit was truly that of an angel here on earth taken away way to soon. The love she shared will be greatly missed by her entire family and all of her friends.

On Saturday, August 3, 2013 an angel departed this earth and entered into eternal life, joining her parents; Charles and Bessie Mathews, sister; Gerri Elaine Mathews, brother; Charles Mathews, Jr., and sister in-law; Rochelle Mathews.

Lynn leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter Alicia N. Bailey, two sisters; Alberta (Arthur) Cross and Eva (Sherman) Gillespie-Mathews, one brother; Roger Mathews, one granddaughter, nephews; Christopher (Aashna) Cross, Sian (Angela) Gillespie, Clinton Cross, Matthew Cross, neices; Kristine (Zach) Slaughter-West, Brooke Gillespie, Jordan Meager and Regis Mathews, as well as a host of other family and friends.
