I met Tim when we were on the same little league baseball team. I didn't see him again until we were in high school. When I was stationed at the Naval Hospital in San Diego working as an ENT Surgical Clinical Technician, we had a last minute tonsillectomy. They brought the patient in and put him in the chair. When I went to pour the local anesthestic into the medicine glass, I realized it was Tim. He didn't recognize me because I was in my scrubs with my surgical cap and mask on. After the surgery was over and he was able to talk, we met someplace off base and talked about the good old days when we were back in Grand Rapids. I was saddened when I heard about his passing. He was a great person.
