Ken and I were best friends in years leading up to high school. We formed our first band in 1967 and spent many hours jamming to the Beatles and The Doors. We watched the telecast of the first moon landing together And also hopped a train when we were 14. Fascinated by science, he never got to see the development of laser technology, computers or deep space observation. His accidental death in early 1973 stunned me and I still think of him often.
