Mechelle Floyd-Jackson Former Grants Pass resident Mechelle Floyd-Jackson, 36, of Oakland, Calif., died Oct. 25, 2009, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Crossroads Church, with Bob Bonner and Harry Olsen, pastors, officiating. Deer Creek Funeral Home in San Leandro, Calif., handled the arrangements. Contributions may be made to Missions Door, 2530 Washington St., Denver, CO 80205, marked as project No. 61675s, in memory of Mechelle Jackson No. 130818. She was born May 26, 1973, in Medford. She grew up in Grants Pass, where she graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1991. While attending high school, she was a member of the flag team, orchestra and jazz band. After graduating, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to attend the California Institute of Design and Merchandising, from which she graduated in 1993. She served as an executive secretary to two vice presidents of the Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Company. During that time, she also owned a catering business called MJ’s Food By Design. While living in Grants Pass, she attended Calvary Crossroads Church. She enjoyed cooking and buying shoes. Survivors include her fiancé, Reginald Murray; her parents, Bob and Judy Floyd; and two brothers, Bob and Jeff.

Does anyone have more information about how she died?  I'm terribly saddened by her passing.
