I met my wonderful husband, Jeff, at college in St. Louis and we settled in Chicago (big city for him, close to home for me). After completely burning out doing IT consulting for 9 years, I took a break, had our first child (Jacob) and went worked with the Chicago police department for a year as a Civilian Investigator doing internal affairs type work - job was very interesting but lifestyle was not quite what I wanted. I took another short break to have our second child (Megan), then went back to the corporate life. Decide I wanted a more meaningful career and found I was much better as a mom of children who could interact more than babies. Once kids started school, I channeled my extra time and energy into the local food pantry, PTO, environmental organization and scouts.
Have a wonderful hubby who supports my varied choices
