GREENSBORO - On February 20, 2010, Franklin Lee Burton departed his earthly home for his heavenly home.

Frank was born on May 29, 1932 to William Fleta Burton and Hellen Rheinwalt Burton.

His youth was spent in the Glenwood area of Greensboro. Frank graduated from Greensboro Senior High School, and earned a BBA from Wake Forest College.

He volunteered for the draft and served two years in the U.S. Army. Frank retired from Klopman Mills/Burlington Industries after 30 years in the planning department. He was in fellowship at Sedge Garden Chapel in Kernersville.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, his step-mother, Lucile Burton, his brothers Marshall, Bill and Buddy, and his sister Geraldine Scherb.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Brafford Burton, and their children and grandchildren: Carol Burton, Anita B. Moser and her husband Greg, David Burton and his wife Robin, Jesse Burton, Amy Moser, Issac Burton, Anna Moser and Levi Burton. Also surviving is a sister Jewelle B. Fields.

There will be a memorial service at the George Brothers Funeral Service on Monday evening, February 22, at 6 p.m., with visitation to follow. Burial will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
