GREENSBORO - Craig Coleman Galloway ,78, formerly, of Greensboro, died as a result of ALS on May 14, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Knoxville, TN.

Mr. Galloway served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1954 to 1956 relocating to Raleigh, NC in September 1956 to complete his degree, in Electrical Engineering at NC State University in May 1957. Mr. Galloway was born in Greensboro, NC on February 27, 1932 to Eunice and Aubrey Galloway. After graduating from Greensboro Senior High, he attended Guilford College and completed two years in a Pre-Med curriculum and then in September 1952, transferred to NC State University. After graduation, Craig worked in the airospace industry for 14 years. In 1972 he went to work at TVA. He retired from TVA in 1992. Mr. Galloway was active in retirement, teaching computer courses at the O'Conner Senior Center, playing tennis with the Senior Tennis Group of Knoxville, learning and practicing investment techniques, and reading and studying science, which was his life-long passion.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Nurse Billie Pachelli and the staff, of UT Hospice.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Williams Galloway; daughter, Allyson Kraft, of Lenoir City; sons, David and Patrick Galloway, of North Carolina; brothers, and sisters-in-law, Haddon and Hilda Galloway, of Pleasant Garden, NC, Dan and Peggy Galloway, of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Chuck Lister, of Nashville, Shannon and Rob Taylor, of Knoxville. He is also survived by grandsons Austin Kraft, of Milwaukee, WI and Dustin Kraft, of Key West, FL; granddaughters, Madison and Abigail Taylor, of Knoxville. As per Mr. Galloway's wishes no formal service is planned. A small private family gathering will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, 922 Delaware Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921.
