Attended and graduated from Wake Forest. Spent six years as a helicopter pilot in the Air Force. Got a Masters Degree in accounting from UNC. Worked for public accounting firms until starting my own firm specializing exclusively in corporate tax in 2002.

My wife Mary and I live on a farm in Liberty, raise sheep, train Border Collies and compete in livestock herding field trials with the dogs. Our son Norman is in the Air Force stationed in New Mexico.
