From Mary Ann (Thies) Smith: From what I've heard, Mike died on August 25, 1999 from complications associated with Diabetes. He's buried near my Mother- and Father-in-law at Forest Lawn Cemetery, so I was able to get the date of his death, but I don't know any other details.
WOW, this was 10 years ago when Mike passed away, and I still remember reading the news in the Greensboro Paper. I went to General Greene Elem. School with Mike, I lived on Overbrook, I think he may have lived on Fernwood, or nearby. Even though I had not seen him since High School, I have good memories of him from Elementary School and after.
