I was a commercial artist for 8 years (wasn't thrilled with this career choice) after my first college experience before returning to school in my 30's and receiving a music performance degree (piano). I've been a full-time musician for almost 20 years. I toured with Bobby Messano (Steve Winwood's guitarist), Frankie Lee and the Bluesblasters and a zillion other blues acts before becoming the director of Jazz Studies at the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA. I was blessed (and surprised...REALLY surprised) with my first (and last) child, Joshua, in 2003! I should have grandchildren his age! My husband was transferred to the Charlottesville area a few years ago where I am a music director at a church and limit my performances to a few times a month now. I have two new CDs that will be released this year. We live 10 minutes from the AT and are serious paddlers! Josh had his maiden voyage on whitewater at three. |
